Doggone Happy Animal Rescue
Doggone Happy Animal Rescue was founded by Dawn Mitchell. She decided she would try to save one dog a month to do her part in helping. To date, she has rescued 1,162 dogs and adopted out 1,133 of those 1,162. She has also helped with the vetting of 391 dogs that weren’t part of her rescue. Doggone Happy Animal Rescue has grown to an unimaginable size and now has 21 fosters.
The Milton Community Food Pantry
The Milton Community Food Pantry’s goal is to provide enough supplemental food for each family member to be able to have 3 meals a day for 3 days a week. In 2018 they provided food for 12,226 people. If their 2019 first quarter numbers continue thru the year, they predict serving over 18,000 people, a staggering 30% increase from the previous year.
The Milton Fire Department
Whether its a natural disaster, rescue, accident or fire, for more than 100 years the volunteers of the Milton Fire Department have helped people in need. The Milton Fire Department protects and provides emergency services to the Town of Milton, Broadkill Beach, Prime Hook Beach, and the community of Harbeson along with the rural areas around them that are experiencing explosive growth.
