Volunteer at The Dog Days Of Summer Festival

Please read through all the information available before applying to be a volunteer.

WHAT DOES A VOLUNTEER DO?

A volunteer works all over the festival to support the festival staff, fans, sponsors, and artists to ensure that everyone at Dog Days Of Summer Festival has an unforgettable, exciting, fun, and safe time. You could be doing anything from helping set up the festival site, to keeping a watchful eye on various entry points, to helping us maintain a green site, or even simply putting on a smile and greeting everyone as they come and go throughout the event.

WHAT DO I GET IF I JOIN?

All volunteers receive access to The Dog Days Of Summer Festival and you’ll get a t-shirt to show everyone that you are part of the Festival and food and drink tokens to keep you powered and hydrated. Most importantly, members of the Dog Days Of Summer Festival get the sense of being part of something special — the experience of working at a music festival, and playing a big part in everyone’s great time!

WHAT ARE THE HOURS?

Volunteer shifts are 6 hours (either 10am to 4pm or 2pm to 8pm). All Pre-event Volunteers must be able to come on site at 10am so we can get you checked in and set up and working before we open the doors to the general public. Pre-event tasks will include setting up the festival, installing pop-up tents, moving tables and chairs etc. During the event volunteers will be tasked with specific duties, keeping the event site clean, Manning various tents, looking after artists and helping guests etc. All Event volunteers will help with clean-up at the end of the show which entails walking, stooping, bending, lifting and handling event waste and recycling.

DO I NEED A TICKET?

No! however we do not refund tickets if you buy them before you find out if you have been confirmed as a volunteer – so please don’t buy a ticket if you plan to volunteer!

I’D LIKE TO HELP OUT FOR A FEW HOURS, CAN I DO THAT?

We do need a solid commitment from our volunteers so that we can arrange everything we need to do and therefore, we are asking our volunteers to commit to a specific shift timetable. If you would like to volunteer but for any reason can’t commit to 6 hours, please fill in the form and state the hours you can help and we will work with you to have you onboard.

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE?

Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.

I’M NOT SURE I CAN HANDLE ANY REAL PHYSICAL LABOR, DOES THAT DISQUALIFY ME FROM VOLUNTEERING?

Absolutely not! Volunteering at Dog Days Of Summer Festival is open to anyone and everyone. Some tasks do require heavy lifting but if you get on site and don’t think you can handle a specific job, speak up and we’ll find something else for you to do.
